Aside from that , countries outside of United States has banned the use of firearms by the public except for the uniform group...and they have no such widespread massacre. Why cant USA do that?

I am an anti-gun control person. Yes, it would be nice to see this happen, but we have a problem with this country being diversity on the firearm use among the people all across this country especially the sportsman and people who lives in the rural areas feel strong for the fire arm uses. They would fight to keep the rights to have the firearms for the protection use. The shops there sells the fire arms and don't want to see the businesses go down in history. They will hate the people who want to have the fire arm uses to be banned. I don't know how we will solve the problem and might have to try very hard to find common ground on this issue or make it tougher for the purchaser to buy one. Somebody will always try to find a way to purchase a firearm , maybe purchase it from the other country, if USA ban all the fire arms except the government agencies. We have to teach the children the morally standard of why its not worth to use a firearm and will ruin the shooter's whole family's lives and as well other people's lives and won't bring the dead people back no matter what over simply use the firearm, if its use improper way Any guns won't solve any personal problems itself in the person's life. It is a tough call.

Like the ban on firearms in Canada helped during the Ecole Polytechnic Massacre in 1989?

Or the Canadian ban helped for the Concordia University Massacre in 1992?

How about the British firearms ban not preventing the Dunblane school shootings in 1996?

The W.R Meyers School Shootings, Canada 1999
The Monash University Shooting, Australia 2002
Dawson College Shooting, Canada 2006
etc..

The hard reality is that gun control does not take firearms out of the hands of criminals and those who are determined to obtain such items. Consider however if just 1 student present during the events in Virginia had been carrying a firearm. That 1 person could have prevented much of the disaster, but guns are banned on that campus effectively making it easy for a deranged individual to go crazy.

In rural areas of the US guns are everywhere, children are taught to shoot at young ages and these areas are almost devoid of school shootings so firearm availability is not the issue.

Because we have the right to bear arms even if it isn't stated in the bill of rights. Thats what "unalienable right" right means. Countries that have banned guns have seen large increases in gun related violence. In the UK, the Bobbies had a long standing tradition of not carrying guns. Guess what? after they pretty much banned all guns, the Bobbies are no heavily armed. Japan has the strictest gun laws of any nation, their prime minister was just recently gunned down. Taking away guns, for one cannot be accomplished, will have little to no affect.

Think about this. Before Britain banned guns they never had any where near the gun problem that we supposedly have. And the level of gun violence increased so much the Bobbies now carry guns. No think about our country and the gun violence being in our country out weighted that of the UK by a large number. Take away our guns and we will see the same rise in gun violence in even greater numbers of that that has taken place in the UK.

All taking away guns does is make the law abiding citizens targets. The courts in the country has said numerous times that the police are under no obligaton to protect us. So if the fuzz cannot protect us, then we are responsible for our own protection.

Studies have also shown that more guns in a populace the less crime, not less guns. This is a proven fact, because several states in this country have open carry and concealed laws and the crime dramatically went down in those states when those laws were enacted.

Also something else to consider. You or the gov attempts to take away our guns, to which we have the right to own and to which are the best tool for self defense, you will end up making a lot of law abiding citizens criminals. I know I and many others will not give up our guns. Any laws made that attempts to ban guns will be unconstitutional and any citizen is not bound to abide by laws which our unconstitutional.

The only people that are going to obey something like that are the law abiding citizens. Those that want to break the law will find a way to get a gun, leaving all those without one with no way to defend themselves.

If I was going to rob someone and had to choose between 2 houses, and one owner had a gun and the other didn't. I would choose the house and owner that didn't have a gun becausee they would be the easiest to take advantage of.

Taking the way the rights and freedoms for Americans to own guns would create even more massacres and crimes, because those that found a way to get a gun would be in control

"One man with a gun can control 100 without one."- Vladimir Lenin

If we banned firearms the only people who would have them would be the criminal element, because they will always have access to them through illegal channels. Let me give you a good example of why firearms are needed by law abiding citizens.

I live in the country. The sheriff's office is 15 miles way. Let's say someone breaks into my home with the intent of harming me and my family. Suppose I have time to call the sheriff and ask for assistance. The response time would be at least 20 minutes. Do you suppose the person who is there to kill me is going to sit back and wait for the sheriff to arrive and keep him from doing that? I don't think so. There are laws in my state that allow me to own a weapon to protect my property and my loved ones. Without those laws people would be in dire danger all of the time because criminals would just bust down your door knowing that you have no way to protect yourself.

I hate to say this, but I would much rather shoot a criminal in the head and protect myself and my family than allow him to shoot me and my family in the head while we are waiting for the sheriff to arrive! Long live the Constitution of the United States of America and my right to bear arms!!!

Impossible...unless you are advocating goose-stepping Nazis going house to house to confiscate our guns. Even then they'd never find all of them. Then you have an underground of people buy/selling guns. The innocent who will obey the laws will become defenseless, while the bad guys can run rampant.

There is precedent for this prediction. A few years ago Australia banned all guns. Since then, their violent crime rate has risen faster than almost every other country in the world.

Even if guns were banned, there is always the black market. There will still be guns available, just not as many. I fully support banning guns. I think the only guns that should be made and sold should be for hunting (many people survive that way) People may argue that they need guns for protection, but you don't need a tech nine or anything. You can kill a human with the same gun you kill a deer. Also, even if guns were banned, people would still be killing each other over dumb things. There's always knives, poison, etc. If people want to kill each other they will find away. Unfortunately that it just how our world is. It's a damn shame too.

Oh GREAT..so you think maybe no more gun crimes if we ban them...You think the criminals would not find guns no matter what to have them. How do you even propose such a thing...which means that honest and decent people would not have a means to protect themselves....Only criminal would have GUNS...Yea let's do that lets ban our firearms for the decent people in our country.

It would be more sensible for states to put limitations on fire arms than for the national government to ban them. The right to bear arms is the second amendment of the US constitution. To ban guns nationwide would take a 2/3 vote of congress to amend the constitution.

The same reason drugs are banned, but a lot of people still use them. Because while some people use them for bad a lot of people keep them for proection because even if you ban guns just look at how many guns are out there you cannot possibly get all of them back.
