I did it. Got $1000 for it and paid for his tuition expenses without her blessing. Needed the money to do it so it was the only way to go. Exhausted all other options (loans, grants, etc.) Curious to know how selfish or selfless people believe this to be.
BTW-she does not even know it's gone yet (been 5 mos)!

That was a pretty heinous thing to do. The bag was hers to do with has she liked. Selling the bag might well have been your best option, but she should have had some input into that decision -- it was her property. How would you like it if she sold something of yours without telling you?

You need to 'fess up before you get caught -- because she'll be a lot madder if she catches you than she will be if you confess. And she will be mad, but you need to deal with it. After what you did you deserve to sleep on the couch for a few nights.

" Would you sell your Wife's Fendi Bag to Pay for Son's College Education? "

You bet ....... and then she'd turn around and sell my Ping Golf Clubs and bag. HAH!

I don't know much about the female mind but I do know that if I want to live ..... I let her bags and her shoes alone. They are sacred. I don't know why .... I just know they are. She then lets me have tools and fishing/hunting gear and asks no questions or makes no comments.

By the by, our kids had to work their arses off at college .... just like we did. We did help though. You're thinking smart. ;-)

You should have told her about it before you did that. If you are married, you should work together prior to making that final decision. I think that the premise behind it is excusable, but the way you went about it was wrong. That was "her" possession. You might be beating yourself up if she finds out about it and says that she would've given you her blessing to sell the handbag. You just opened the door to more problems. I hope that your son makes good use of his education.

I wouldn't spend that much to get a purse. That's dumb, IMO-even of you can afford it. But, tuition is more important than a purse that's been gone for 5 months without anyone even noticing it. I wou;dn't make such a secret out of it though, except I'd never buy her another one, and I'd wait to see how long it took her to notice, then I'd fess up.

Well, obviously your priorities are in order, hopefully she will understand. Since it's been 5 months and she hasn't missed it that shows it's the furthest thing from her mind. I'd say buy her a knockoff for a replacement and be done with it.

lol...well she must not have cared too much about it if she doesn't know it's gone. You should probably tell her though. she may smack you a few times but at least your son is taken care of and that's what's important. I could see if you spent the money on crystal meth or something. You were very resourceful and you should be proud of yourself.

I hope you realize when she finds out she is going to kill you. Especially, if she worked her butt off to get it. Until then, don't worry about. I wouldn't sell anything of my man's without his permission. I would sell my own things to get my son in college, and tell my son he better get good grades so he can get the HOPE Grant and keep it.

I don't think it's selfish that you want to help pay for your son's college, but have the desency to at least tell your wife. You shouldn't hide it from her. I am sure once you explain why you did it she'll understand, she'll be a little upset, but she should understand. You both want what's best for you son.

you got that much for a bag, **** i am a woman and would have sold it. I think it was selfish in the first place for her to buy a bag that costed that much
