I hate to be realistic but it will never happen. You might be able to play in an exhibition game like Manon Rheaume did for the Lightning.

Honestly, as much as you may not like it, I can't see it happening. You can go on and on about equality but when it comes to physical strength men are just that much bigger and stronger and you could get seriously hurt playing with the big boys. I know there have been a few women toying with competing with men but those are sideshows or circus' and no one takes them seriously.
I wish you luck. There are certainly more opportunities for you today than there once was.
One thing I could never understand is what makes some one play net? All those rockets coming at you, people piling on, getting screened and the pressure. I couldn't do it. I lasted 3 games and never put the pads on again.
You're either very brave or very crazy or perhaps a bit of both.

It has little to do with being a girl. Hey if you can take a massive body check from Chris Pronger then go for it. But the reality of it is I'm a guy and no matter how much talent I had (I don't but just making a point) I'm 5'4" and I'm barely 120 lbs. No way. 1 woman has played in the NHL and it was an exihibition. There are tons talented female players in Canada. But none of them are in the NHL. What I'm saying is, if you want to give it a shot, go for it! Just understand the obstacles between youself and your goal (no pun intended). No one can stop you from trying. Good luck!

Absolutely not! They have womens leagues to keep the women happy. I know they arent popular and nobody watches (cuz frankly nobody cares) but ESPN shows the WNBA to be 'fair'.
If you look at any other leagues, there arent women (except for racing cuz its no contact), and realistically, its because they think women cant handle it.

But anyway, I am pretty sure there will never be women in hockey. Its just not something the NHL (or any pro sports league) is really interested in.

You can make the pros, i guarantee it.

But thats all i can do. On your end, it will require you to be deteremined, focused, and strong. You have to constantly practice, work on your game, and don't let anyone say you can't do it. Hockey is hockey and it should have nothing to do whether you're a girl or a boy. Go get get'em!

Talent is everything. If you could do something better than the boys than you will make the pros. It's all about talent and it's all about how much talent you have.

remember, you will have to be ready to be run into by 225 lb. forwards that have their legs taken out from under them at full stride while trying to beat a defenseman on a breakaway....

or perhaps getting into a goalie fight with Ray Emery sounds nice.....

at least you'll have a nice view of Holmstrom's *** when the Wings are on the powerplay!

Into the NHL/AHL: since you haven't provided any info on how tall you are & weight, I'll say no.

If you weight anything less than 150 lbs, you'll get pounded into the ice.

If you got the skill and the determination, you can make it to the pros.
