If you feel comfortable not using foundation then I wouldn't start now. But i definately would use a moisturizer with at least a 15spf. Leaving your skin completely exposed is dangerous! Also if you like foundation just for special nights or just to try Prescriptives makes a great foundation called flawless skin, that covers EVERYTHING! and if you can find a counter they match your skin tone perfectly so its like your not wearing makeup! Hope that helps!

the problem is that mature skin is often over-hydrated.. then, the foundation creases due to excess moisture. You have to use a moisturizer (the least greasy, the better).. and you can treat your skin for wrinkles at night .. Then, look for a long-lasting foundation that evens-out the skin tone and protects against sun damage. Long lasting because that will guarantee not to run into your wrinkles. The #1 mistake for mature skin is the misuse of powder. So you can use the foundation, some light concealer to neutralize dark circles (be sure that it's light, not cakey) and you can use a little bit of powder in the T-Zone to absorb excess oil and set the makeup. The lighter the powder, the better.
and just lightly, brushing off excess with a large round brush.
My favorite foundation is L'Oreal Infallible. It has SPF 15, lasts 16 hours, has a wide range of shades, and removes the signs of fatigue. Awesome. Just 1 pump will work for your entire face. Apply it with fingertips after moisturizer, when it's dry, you can proceed with concealer. Physicians Formula Concealer Twins in Light/Yellow has this lightweight yellow shade that will erase and neautralize dark circles (a condition that ages us a lot!!) . You cal also apply it lightly around nose and on any reddish area. Blend well with a sponge. Then apply a little bit of powder to set. In mature skin, hydration (not over-moisturizing) is key to avoid makeup-filled lines and creases. Then, you can proceed with your usual makeup routine (eyes, cheeks and brows).
Hope this will help.

You should always Clean your skin after wards if your going to start using it. And it's better to wait to use Foundation, because it clogs your pores. To help get rid of the sign of wrinkles try putting a lighter shade of foundation than you are using to get rid of the lines. Also before putting on your foundation, you should always use Oil of Olay with SPF 15 that way you have some moisturizer on your skin, along with protection from the sun. Hope I've helped

If you don't know if you have damage, perhaps you don't have a lot!

It would be really difficult to to avoid a certain amount of skin damage due to exposure to sun, harsh climate conditions like extreme cold or dry atmosphere, and pollution.

I suggest you keep trying to find a good foundation with sunscreen. Talk with a make-up artist. They know the products.

I wear foundation with sunscreen in addition to using moisturizer with sunscreen. I think this has helped me avoid a lot of sun damage, especially since I often wear a hat, sunglasses and long sleeves outdoors. I live in the Sun Belt and my eyes are very light-sensitive and my skin burns easily, so I've been doing this a long time.

Wearing an SPF lotion is key to protecting your skin from sun damage not foundation.

Try a tinted moisturizer w/ SPF instead of foundation. Sephora carries a lot & they have testers available.

Neutrogena makes a sheer foundation w/ SPF that you might like because it's very light.

You don't need foundation. You should be doing the following to protect your skin.

Cleanse
Tone
Treat
Moisturize (Use something with SPF)
Eye treatment

Remember, it is never too late to start taking care of your skin.

Check out the Bare Minerals and Rare Minerals line. Their products are very awesome, and totally worth it. ESPECIALLY since you haven't used or didn't like foundation.

You don't feel anything on your skin at all. And it is healthy for your skin. It IS as good as they say.
