Why is it that only white people are accused of being racist?

Other races can have their groups and scholarships but if white people wanted white history month, or WET (white enternainment television) we would be called racist...recently there was a high school where white student came out with a white only club for white students to expand thier possiblities or whatever...the school had black clubs and asian clubs with the same purpose...the students were kicked out of school and the club was ended...nothing was said to the black clubs or asian clubs...how is this right?

Yes, I studied history but guess what? Its history!! Black people in america arn't slaves any more...I am no racist and I am not complaining I am simply stating the facts! I am right and you can admit it or not! It does happen and often. We are not segregated any more black people have just as many rights as white people and I am tired of them and all the other races bitching all the time how they are the minority! We don't get government grants for being white but you guys get them for being minority! It makes no sence you call us crackers and we don't care! Get of the past and move on!!!

I don't affiliate myself with any political party both sides have things i don't agree with. I don't think that black people are descriminated against in any way if anything they've got it much easier than white people because they get to gripe about them being descriminated against when they are really not!!

How can you ask how long we are going to go on and on about tv channels when you all can't shut up about Imus in the morning! He has a right to call those girls whatever he wants to there is not law against hurting feelings...I don't agree with him but he is protected by the law!

You are right Imus is protected by the law. But there is also a little thing called respect. He simply disrespected the girls and yes maybe hurt their feelings. Racists are two forms. The whites thinks they are superior. The colored think they are being treated as inferior.
The white thinks they can do things the right way. The colored thinks they can do it the best way.
Basketball was the game for the whites and now blacks are getting the crowds.

Racism is according to the standards of Al Sharpon, Jessie Jackson. If the signs says,"For whites only." it's discriminations. If there is awards night lavishly adorned with all pompous adulations ,it is called African-American National Recognition Awards (whatever that is) for exemplary achievements. Of course not only Blacks do that, Every race around the world wants recognition that whites enjoyed for quite a good number of years. Life is definitely like a wheel. But when it gets tired of wheeling around, it will tend to lie on its side and every race will be equals. A time will really come that racism will just be a word of the past.

Well, I'm white, but don't feel particularly threatened by the grist mills. I will say this, though; given the powers that be are in fact themselves white, and that they do take the lead; in doing so, you take the most flak. Really? This is a non question. It's more about evil. When I see what you mention and people actually segment themselves like that, it just means a manifestation of fear and denial. I have no time for that nonsense. I'm also aware of the political liaisons and compromises and dirty dealings visible. Because they're white, doesn't mean they care about anyone but themselves. Though I'm white, I don't back up what I consider to be evil. Be it white, black, or whatever else you've got on your list. You are to stand on your own. I don't make apologies for being white. I don't owe anybody anything. You may not like that, but if so, it probably means you're a frustrated user who knows he's got no angle. Personally, it's a non issue. Okay, whites make up 60% of US population right? Okay, so being that whites dominate mainly everything by sheer numbers, what purpose would there be in having an all white club? In honor of the good old days when segregation was active? The problem is that many minorities aren't wanted by whites. Yes, people are still racist if you didn't know. When whites basically dominate television, why in the world would you need a WET channel (many whites complain about BET). Seriously have you ever looked at the big picture? Don't you realize that if you are a minority you are ignored more so than the majority?

Get real. Louis Farrakhan is racist. I've met plenty of racist black people, hispanic people, asian people, and Indian people. 72% of America is white. It stands to reason that there are more racist whites than any other group of people in America. Only 12% of the population is black, so if ALL black people were racists, which they aren't, it would still only add up to a tiny percentage of black racists, compared to white. Just do the math.

White people don't need "white only" institutions, because they make up the majority of the population. That means that, mathematically, most institutions are already white only. If you combine that with the historical facts of "Whites Only" schools, businesses, and public services, then you can understand that, not only is it not necessary to have white-only groups, but it is also endorsing the kind of forced separatism that black people have struggled so hard to overcome.

In other words, if there had never been a "whites only" policy, there would never have been a need for "blacks only" policies. It isn't enough that black people have had to fight for every right that whites are born with, but whites want to take away their resources too?

White history month! LOL! You must be kidding. The history of this country (and most of world) was written by and about the white "man". The purpose of black history month is to enlighten people about the "African" American experience in this country. Blacks were robbed of their history. When slaves arrived to this country there were no birth certificates or family tree to accompany them. Most blacks in this country could not trace their own roots. Names have been changed as they were sold and resold. The native tongue was not allowed to be spoken in "masters" house. So you don't need a white history month. And most clubs, associations, fraternities, etc... were created for "whites", so its only fair to let other groups have theirs. You mentioned "white entertainment television". Everything on television is based on the "white" experience. How can blacks, asian, mexicans, etc... relate to Desperate Housewives, Orange County, Beverly Hills 90120, The Brady Bunch, Friends, Dawson's Creek, Charmed, MTV ( better than it used to be), VH1, That 70's show, etc... I could name 100 shows on tel-li(e)- vision that relates to whites. And Bet is owned and operated by a white corporation. They only show ignorant, degrading shows anyway. I personally don't want to watch shows about black gansters, half naked women, and rap music. Blacks are about more than that. Even in movies, we are either gang-banging, selling drugs, beating our women, drug addicts, etc... Very seldom are there positive images. And the Western image of beauty is a blue-eyed, blonde hair, skinny white women. So if you think you need more shows and your own little "clubs" something is wrong. Take a minute to think about what others have gone through and why things are the way they are today. A book can really enlighten ones perspective on the world around them. You can't expect everything to be based on the "white mans" life. Times have changed. In a few years more than 50% of this country will be comprised of minorities. Than you will see how it feels to be on the outside looking in.

Were the Asian and black clubs allowing ANYONE to join? If so, that's their disclaimer right there. If the white club was refusing membership to anyone who was NOT white, that is grounds for discrimination.

I belong to a gay and lesbian student organization on campus, but we don't deny membership to people if they aren't gay or lesbian. All are welcome to join, but they have to join under the pretenses that the club is geared towards promoting GLBT issues. They can be an ally to our cause, but they cant expect to join a gay and lesbian club and have us talk about straight people. It's just common sense. And we also have other "racially defined" clubs on campus, but they too, allow anyone to join.

I would look into this before declaring such a statment as truth. I'm sure there's more details than you're telling us, because your statement is obviously biased.

If that is true, they made a White only club. All of the the clubs in my high school including the Black and Asian clubs allowed anyone to join. I was in the Asian Club and I'm not Asian.

Chels, did anyone teach you history? White Americans have DOMINATED the country with an iron hand since conception. The history of the "whites" IS the history of the US, according to any history book. It is NOT wrong for other cultures to make their contributions known to a society that seems to only think in black and white, never gray.
