So there's this Art Gallery/School that is 'celebrating 45 years of art' so they're having a celebration party and the theme is the 1960's (that's when they started).
the invite says "60's inspired/festive attire"
what would be something i could wear that's 60's inspired but somehting i could wear on a regular day as well?! is that possible.
i don't wanna go real crazy (tie-die shirt or hippie clothes or platforms)
if it helps: I'm 19, average height, long brown hair and the event is in the evening around end of spring/beginning of summer.

Bell bottoms with a bright flowered shirt. Only one or two buttons on the shirt and the ends tied above your navel. Thong sandals or bare feet. That's what I remember everytime I think of the girl I dated back then.

THINK TWIGGY. Black & white in 60's shapes is always a great way to go; and you can usually grab some stuff from your own closet. Try a trapeeze top from Wet Seal, Forever 21, or similar low cost fad-ish store with a mini in a bold or contrasting color. Exaggerated hoop earings, large false eyelashes and go-go boots are also nice to complete the look.

The film was produced by the film and drama departments of Texas Tech in Lubbock. It was based on crimes committed by Ed Gein, which actually occurred in Plainfield, Wisconsin. Other than that, the factual similarities are only general at best. The film was based more on the cultural shock across America that resulted from the man and his deeds. An article in Texas Monthly (November, '03) detailed the myths that still surround this classic forerunner of a new genre, along with a lot of interesting and humorous, if not weird, trivia.

if you're going for the mid 60's, you could find a 60's inspired go-go dress. Wear dark eye make up and light light lipstick.

time of the flower power. colourful clothes and keep your hair loose. that would do it. if you have anything with big flowers on it , that would be very cliche 60s. but colourful will do. no black. no grey. if you do not want your hair loose. tie a colourful ribbon in it or something.. :) have fun
