1. Never, ever, belittle or tease people in a mean spirited way.
2. Go out of your way to be friendly to people.
3. If you notice someone is having a hard time making friends or socializing, try to befriend that person.
Any other suggestions?

For all of human history there have been people who kill other people. Some fraction of people so disposed may change if they're treated well by others, so it's worth trying. But there will always be some who are un-reachable.

The only way to reduce the number of mass killings like the one in VA is to have people prepared to defend themselves. Rendering yourself helpless (disarmed) does not make you safe from those who are willing to disobey rules. Ever notice that mass killings always happen in "gun-free" zones where the criminal knows he'll have a long time among defenseless people before the police show up and that even then the pattern is for the police to stay outside until the shooting stops? Criminals think twice when they know their potential victims will be able to shoot back.

There's no way of absolutely preventing this from happening again in our country today. We need to realize that this is a huge country and getting bigger all the time. Just use the law of averages and you'll find plenty of crazies or evil folks who'll perpetrate deeds of this nature. It's been going on for centurie. It's just that guns make it more efficient. I don't agree with banning all guns nor do I agree we should arm everyone. We should simply wait until emotions are not clouding our reason to come up with some sort of answer. Maybe training students on what to do or installing emergency buttons in all classrooms would be the way to go. Let's just wait until we've finished grieving and let the victim's families mourn in peace.

Yes. It's the truth rather than political correctness non-sense. Number one, stop allowing all these foreign nationals to attend our schools here. Take a look at how many arabs are here on our campuses for example. And this is well after 9-11.

That's not counting all the other hostile chinese, viet namese, etc, who are attending classes here.

It's also time to ban islam in any form. It is pure evil, and those who practice it are pure evil. There is no excuse for tolerating it any longer.

Lastly, it's time to stop being "politcally correct" and to actually speak out and correct the real problems occuring within our nation. There is a reason that these things simply did not occur prior to the 1960's.

I think the Best Answer are the 3 thing you posted.

They try to blame parents and video games. There was no evidence that could prove his parents or games were even involved with his intentions. Maybe it's his fault for keeping everything bottled inside him and having noone to confide in.

I think the remarks that the reporter who was interviewing Cho's suitemate made, were racist. He insisted multiple times that Cho may had been influenced by playing the game Counterstrike. I say this is racist because Koreans are widely known to be very good at this game. It is team and strategy based for multi-player.

That comment would be the same as if the killer were an african american male and the reporter trying to say "Did you ever hear him speak about not having a father."

Your suggestions are good, and they may prevent a lot of unpleasantness and even violence. Good manners can sometimes make the difference between life and death, though certainly don't condone hurting anybody just for being rude.
But they would not be likely to stop this kind of event. People don't do this kind of thing because others are not friendly to them. People tried to approach him, but without real success. Some of them tried to get help for him, but he didn't cooperate. He was psychotic. His video clearly states that he thought everybody was deliberately trying to make his life miserable. You know as well as I do that that wasn't true. He was delusional.
My suggestion, besides being polite, is that when you know somebody that shows the disturbing signs that he did, try hard to get him help. However, he may have hidden his feelings enough that nobody was able to do much about him.

the two tighten secure practices in school campuses and difficulty the scholars to random pat-downs, dorm-room searches, and steel detectors (that may not %. up the ceramic weapons made by Glock and different manufacturers) OR decontrol the gun administration rules and allow scholars to guard themselves. Unconceal those weapons. If Cho knew the youngsters and instructors had the capacity to fireside lower back and end him, he does no longer have attacked. Terrorists with a message will continually %. on the susceptible and defenseless. they do no longer want a honest combat.

Be aware of the people around you. Treat people better, not as unfeeling objects. Open ourselves to others. Observe details. Avoid self-centeredness. Love.

I agree with those 3 lists. Additional list would be :
1. Tough gun laws
2. Improve mental institute and counseling at school or colleges
3. Create a communication class in school or college (I mean really a class to learn to communicate to people in speaking, writing and body language, not a speech class).
