I know it is sooo cliche but beauty truly does come from inside.
If you met a size two women who was nasty, spit on people and kicked puppies, you wouldn't find her so attractive. If she is a size two and a great person then their inner beauty and outer beauty will make them even more beautiful.
The same is true for whatever size you are.

Here is the age old question, what is beauty?
Looking at this question from a purely bilogical perspective, beauty exists as a factor for determining how likely a mate will be able to produce offspring. In many species the bigger the better.
From a cultural perspective, different cultures assign values to different conditions. While in the U.S. the waiflike model is held up as the center of the beauty universe, there are many cultures in which rotund women are considered beautiful and skinny women are unattractive. Some African and Asian cultures physically elongate the neck which is considered attractive.
Thus, when someone says that beauty is in the eye of the beholder, they are correct. Beauty is so subjective, it defies the most rudimentary of definitions.
The next idea I'd like to throw into the mix is the concept of beautiful inside as well as outside. There appears to be some validity to the idea that good karma or whatever is going on with a person's emotional state is observable to other people. Thus I do think there is some reasonableness to this concept.
Ultimatey though I would have to say that beauty is defined to the largest extent by the individual's symetry. Even more so than weight. I look for the eyes to mirror each other both in terms of shape, size and relative position. (This is why I don't think Angie Harmon is that attractive.) I like the lips to be symetrical when the person talks. I like a nose that is straight. Teeth.

My daughter is beautiful. Sunset over the ocean is beautiful. I'm sorry. I am sometimes a shallow person. I don't want to be, but sometimes I am (to the point of not liking what I see in the mirror at all). I wish I didn't level people according to their appearance, but sometimes I do. We all do at times. Scientists have theories that suggest that we are all programmed to be attracted to a certain look. I wasn't as superficial in the past as I am today because a lot of it I learned from my husband.

Having an IQ and not caring what other people think is beautiful. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

in a America?? is there more than one? a little girl feeding the ducks in a pond with her father is beautifull; a son asking his mom for girl advice is beautifull; an older couple that vowed to grow grey together, and actually followed through with it is beautifull. So many things in America are beautifull. of course all you see is media hype about skinny women, and macho men. but if you look into what it is really like to wake up in America on a spring day you will see that America is beautifull.

Something that is truly beautiful is something that inspires you- you admire it so much that it you view it completely differently than other situations/people.
For example, a woman that is so beautiful that other women want to be like her, or men want to be near/with her (meaning that personality carries a large part of this perception). Or, a sunset or scenic view that causes you to stop and take notice and ponder if you don't stop and notice such things more often.

All things and beings are beautiful in their own way.
Those that see beauty only in the mirror, have not yet looked deeply enough.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, everyone has thier own idea of what beautiful is.... personally I look inside a person to see thier beauty (personaility, manners, how they treat others) ...not simply the outside (looks fade)..
