hispanic is anyone from a spanish speaking country .. who all came from spain back in the day.

latino .. is anyone from a latin speaking country.. also including the hispanics. So hispanics are latino .. but not all latinos are hispanic.

A true Latino is Italian. Hispanics are called 'latino' because their language is Latin based. Using this analogy, everyone who speaks English is English.

huh, i never thought about it. I feel like latino is slang, but hispanic is what is on the form to check off.

technically? latino implies being from latin america. hispanic implies spanish orgin. a mexican is just a mexican a puerto rican is just a puerto rican. i dont understand why they call themselves latino and what not b/c im sorry they are not. i dont call myself an irish american. no im an american.

"hispanic" is a term imposed upon them, "Latino" is a term they chose themselves.
