The new Ford/Mercury Escape/Mariner Hybrid SUV would be a good fit. The new 2008 models look real nice too.

Other that are also good in seating 5 comfortably

The Toyota/Lexus highlander/RX400h, Camry, GS400h

Honda sells the Accord Hybrid, but unlike the Camry which uses a 4 cylinder mated to a electrical motor, Honda uses a V6 to give more power.

Saturn sells the SUV Vue in a hybrid format too. I believe they are working on a version of the Saturn Aura in hybrid format too.

Nissan is working on releasing the Altima as a hybrid.

You can research any of them on the manufacturer's web sites.

I laughed when reading the other hybrid choices submitted.
Nearly all involved petrol fueled vehicles. What's the big fuel export of Canada? It isn't oil. Read my lips, hybrid hoodoo,
its natural gas. Several production vehicles run compressed natural gas, Indian mainly, but there is the Honda Civic GX.
The latter provides an electric pump from which one can fuel from the home heating gas line. From natural gas can be made propane. Liquid propane gas vehicles are common
enough and generally cost from two to six thousand to convert an existing motor vehicle. As to the Ford hybrid do you grow a lot of corn in northern Canada? (giggle)
