Happy, I mean truly happy? Or have you ever been truly happy?

I have never been truly happy,I am closer to it than I have ever been.I just need to be with him and then yes I can say I am truly happy

A part of me is happy, but I don't think I've ever been truly happy for a very long time.

I am happy sometimes, but in a guarded way.When I let my guard down and try to feel happy in every way, something goes wrong. (This may not be true for everybody but it is for me)At the risk of sounding pessimistic I'll say this, you can count on the doldrums to visit you but happiness will show you her lovely face only when it pleases her whim and fancy to do so.You are more often than not, only allowed a sliver, a glimpse ,a fleeting glance of the giddy ecstasy that happiness affords a person. More often than not 'happiness' reminds me of the freshly baked goodies that a mother lovingly prepares or her children allowing each ,only the moderate portion that is theirs by right. Once the goodies are savoured and the last crumbs are all but eaten,they(the goodies) are nothing but a distant memory.

I'm not truly happy now but I was before..it didn't last too long, maybe like a moment or two.

I am truly happy.
Sure there are kinks in the highway, but I can handle them with the help of friends and family
