I'm planning a trip up to Minneapolis and the Mall of America this June but of course there are so many hotels up there I don't know how to pick one. I've read some reviews but would like to hear from more people. Any suggestions on hotels to stay at or...or to stay away from?

Thanks!

AmeriSuites... They have a free shuttle to the mall, and they offer decent rates for a "suites" style hotel, and they are a Hyatt affiliate. I stay there every time I'm in Bloomington on business.

I have also used the Holiday Inn in Bloomington. This property has a few more amenities , such as a very large pool, and a nice game room for kids. They too have a shuttle to the Mall of America.

The radisonn is a good short distance, but thats such a boring area for going out in. (if you're planning on going out). Id say if you have a car, stay somewhere in downtown minneapolis to go out. Plus shopping down there is ok, I like Edina's Southdale and 50th and France the best. You can usually get great deals on priceline too.

You can smoke in hotel rooms, if they have the appropriate ventillation system. Therefore you are more likely to get smoking rooms in the more modern hotels. The Grange Holborn, Travelodge Marylebone and Danubius Regents Park have smoker rooms. Travelodge plan to go all no smoking next year
