is there any way of softening them, or is it just a case of walking them in? thanks.

they are the flat shoes with no heel. Like a ballet shoe without the laces!

Did you get them from Dorothy Perkins by any chance?!

I bought a pair of black ballet pumps from there before and they did exactly the same thing.

It's a tough one because if the back was just leather it would soften up, but it's the material that's hurting your feet. Feel it with your fingers - is there a sharp 'glued' bit, or any part that feels harder or sticks out? You could try just snipping it with some scissors, this can help.

In the end I bought some of these:

You are supposed to be able to just stick them on the heel of your shoe. Personally, mine kept falling off. So I superglued them to the inner back heel of my shoe! Problem solved!

You could also try sticking a plaster on the inside of your shoe, sometimes this can help! (I've done that a few times!)

You can buy plasters with gel in them which are really good (a bit expensive). Or shoe stretching gel, which doesnt make them any bigger but relaxs the material and softens it. You could try rubbing soap on the rubbing area which may soften it up. Hope this helps and bear with it, my most comfy pair used to hurt me, I now wear them all the time!

o no !!! i hate it when that happens . try putting a plaster in the backs where it is rubbing or buy some shoe cushioning padding sticker things . they r gud !. wear thicker socks or tights - but not good as summer on its way . or if not happy wear them on the odd day .

Wear them with a thick pair of socks round the house

you will need to walk them in, but one thing i usually do with my new shoes is take a tin can (like baked beans or something) and push it into the back of the heel, and leave it for a day or so. this tends to widen the back and stop them rubbing so much!

hope this helps!

You need to buy shoe pads and also stretch them out by wearing them with socks!

apply a lubricant such as Vaseline or any other petroleum jelly or any oil. It makes the feet slip smoothly without much rubbing. Believe me it works like a miracle. You can use band-aid also

i have the same problem with a pair of my flats. i found that if you put a band-aid (get ur skin-color) and stick it to the back of your shoe or the back of your ankle, you don't feel any pain. trust me-it worked for me.

put bandaids on the sore spots to cushion the wound... and socks to protect your feet around the house to soften and break em in.
