how can that be?? america wasen't even discovered till long after jesus walked the earth , so how is he american ???, i don't think thats true anyway cause i'm an american and i didn't hear about that

If Jesus of Nazareth were alive today, he would probably be killed, ignored, or locked up.
America (and the world in general) do not value what Jesus preached.
Think about it, he came from a poor, insignificant working-class family and taught that the poor would inherit the Earth; and that nobody who had ever made a mistake should judge someone else for their mistakes; and that the ruling class were hypocrites; and that he was the son of God.
He would either be called mentally ill or a Communist!

They have a statue commemorating the fictional boxer Rocky Balboa in Philadelphia. Ironically that's where one of the greatest boxers of all time lives. His name is Joe Frazier, now living close to poverty. Some of Americans way of thinking is really weird. Imagine idolising a fictitious character.

First of all Jesus is not from America. Secondly, America came from an Italian explorer who came hundred of years after Christ. So really I can't find any sense from the question.

I didn't know this happened, but it would be completely embarrassing on a number of levels...not least of which is the fact that America didn't even exist when Jesus was alive...therefore he cannot be considered an American.
Oh religion...it's scary how it can mess with a mind.

Jesus Christ wasn't American as far as I know he was born in Jerusalem so I've always been taught. I don't really get your question, it's kinda weird.!!
