Leather is preferred, hands down. Leather shoes breathe, don't trap moisture, and can be polished or brushed to make the evidence of scuffs disappear. They also get softer with wear, and mold to fit your unique feet. Leather purses are much stronger material than equivalent non-leather ones, and take a whole lot more "abuse" without tearing or cracking.

I don't l ike the smell of leather so I go with non-leather shoes and purses.

Non-leather. I really don't like wearing cow, calf or any other animal as an accessory.
