Shouldn't there be some kind of a yearly evaluation of an independent controller. Most of our Politicians go only three times a year to actually debate something. Some of them are in Congress since 40 years and haven't done a damn thing. I would love to have an open record in same kind of understandeble format (no spin) for each member.

We need to overthrow, this quackery of government, and get a new one. One that does work for it's people, our Government, is worthless as teets on a bore hog.

Yes I agree but this is not something that would ever happen; at least with the present Big Business ran government (and it's been that way since the early 1800's).

Can you imagine the CEO's, CFO's, CIO's and the majority stockholders getting pay for performance! It's the same thing. Before my job was outsourced overseas by Hewlett-Packard, we went through some tightening because of failing profits. Why were the profits failing? Because we had shi* leaders that failed to adequately plan and take the appropriate action. Wage freezes, layoffs, reduced hours all helped the big shots keep some profit margin. They helped themselves at the expense of the workers.

This is the same thing that our government does. It is an elitist group and will stay that way because big business will crush anybody that doesn't go along. They keep us fighting over little things like who said what and what Dem did this and what Rep did that. All the time they are all moving in their own elitist circles. Heck, even the failed politicians are set for life!

This will continue until the people of this nation realize that prejudice and bigotry are not between races and religions and genders as big business control government and their mouthpieces want us to believe, rather it is between economic classes. The 7% very well off rule the 50% working class below, they in turn are ruled by the top 3% elitists who also set social policy and programs giving the 40% poor just enough to keep them fighting each other.

Of course to upend this would take major enlightenment and evolvement of the bottom 90% of the population. It would require us to work together and dump the Rosie O'Donnels, Al Sharptons, Jesse Jacksons, Hillary and Bill Clintons, GWB and his henchmen as well as the organized religious leaders. Of course, Islam Fascisms is not the answer. Just because we don’t belong in the Middle East doesn’t mean that those Islamic terrorist are right. That’s another problem, just because you believe one side of an issue is wrong doesn’t make the other side right. Sometimes there is no right solution being presented.

Libs that's something you can dream about and Reps, something to work out!

Edit: and Irish American; I must respectively point out that you are incorrect. The 110th Congress to date has accomplished nothing. You may be referring to the house which passed 3 bills but none have made it through the congress and are not likely to because they were poser bills and not well thought out. Remeber Springstein, "Here comes the new boss, the same as the old boss". I'm telling you, quit the in fighting, we're all in the same boat and need to paddle togather. Media and politicians are owned by Big Business, do you actually think that CNN is any more trustworthy than Fox or that ABC is any less biased than NBC? They are all owned by the same top people.

If you mean this session, then you and I have a different idea of "do nothing". A Congress that met for only 93 days (the last year's Republican controlled congress), fits my definition.

This session, while just as corrupt and redundant, has already accomplished more in its first 100 days than the previous one.

You can check out the Senate and House's website to see a pretty accurate tally of bills proposed, votes made and other information. You can also check out a few of the government watchdogs sites as well, however, you must realize that the watchdog will insert its own bias, be it liberal or conservative.

Personally, any member of Congress who would pass a bill into law, WITHOUT READING SAID BILL, should be hanged, IMO.

I agree 1000%..Get rid of all Lobbyist thereby bypassing special interest, avoiding pay offs, Bribery, influence pedaling, corruption of the Political Process.. We do have an irresponsible unproductive and lazy spoiled Congress.. They have to start putting the Country and the American People first last and always. It is long overdue. They are all talk and no action. There is much to do for the Country and its People before we can celebrate being an American again...

It's pretty terrible. If I knew how to make a good website, I would make a website that charts out where candidates are based on their votes on certain issues. Politicians need to be fired really bad.

Two words: fixed terms....can't just boot em out. cuz they're there for four years.
One word: elected....somebody voted for em, and they forgot it's "We the people" so they need to be accountable to their consituents and not lobby groups.
And each party would just love to give you the stats on all members of the other party who sit in Congress or the House...attendance, voting record, etc.
Watch for "selected" stats to be aired soon as the election campaign heats up for real for 08.
