Who is better Nemanja Vidic or Rio Ferdinand?

I think Vidic is just the man Rio needs at his side. Rio has some great talents, esp. his ability to escape trouble and distribute the ball well, but he lacks an ability to truly read the game. And that is just the part of the game a feel Vidic excels in. he reads the game to perfection, and though his skills on the ball may not be as cultured as Rio's, he is still very good.

If I had to chose, I would take Vidic's mental attributes plus some great skills over Rio's pure skill.

All of you who have slagged off Ferdinand are obviously retards. Three years ago, he was the best centre half in the world, and on his day can still be that. At the moment, I'd have to give it to Vidic based on him being younger and fitter, having the potential to continue growing and becoming stronger. But Rio at his best pwns the Serb with ease.

as a team they both are exceptionally well but VIDIC has been great with his defensive and heading qualities.
