If you put this to a national vote you would find that the public is of the overwhelming opinion that the phenomena of school shootings in the US is media driven.
The creep was a monster, nobody liked him because there was nothing there to like, past , present or future and he murdered 32 innocent students ---end of story--- but the media goes on interviewing psychiatrists for weeks feeding bored couch potatoes with notions of social injustice to misfits and dragging up every school shooting that's occurred since the fad started, It's cheap irresponsible journalism and is in fact principle the seed for the next school shooting and the next and the next.
So ya , right on.
We should do more to let media know of public displeasure regarding aggrandizing the criminally insane for the sake of ratings and profit.

Weren't there a bunch of Copy-cat near shootings after Columbine?
This shooter even mentioned Eric and Dylan as martyrs. Why do I know that? Because if I want to find out what's going on today this is all I see! I'm done for a week or so until something else happens.

No, yet weapons are the suitable weapons for killing that we've for inner maximum use. permit's be trustworthy, in spite of they want, and maximum of them are not sane adequate to correctly known what planet they're on and die in the previous they ever understand in the event that they have been given their fifteen minutes or no longer, they kill., and that they kill in larger numbers by using utilising attack weapons. If the media did no longer record it, they had be overlaying up a subject we've. too many weapons in each and every of the incorrect hands. will no longer be able to get around it, and if the NRA will no longer be able to make certain something to scale down the screwloose enthusiasm for blood, ultimately human beings are going to do it without them. So why do no longer they placed their heads at the same time and paintings something out?

Yes. I agree with you. He probably would have just killed himself alone, but he knew that he would not have gotten the publicity that way.
I think we should see more coverage of positive stories. Right now the balance is so off. I think you are being fooled if you don't believe there is an effect on society, if even a subconscious one. Violence should not be more newsworthy than acts of love.

The war or invasion of other nation is a good role model for serial, mass murderers to come out of the closet. In addition man's like Hitler, Bush , Stalin, could easely have modeled for Cho.

What would happen? The same damn thing. What do you think would happen? They didn't put the gun in his hands and they sure didn't pull the trigger. They just showed what the American public wanted to see. We live in a society that thrives on violence and conflict. Plain and simple. The media did not exacerbate this situation, they merely presented the materials that they received.

yes I think that is a part of why he sent the tape to NBC, he wanted the world to know what he did, and why he did it. He thought that he was a martyr for his cause, and he wanted to show the world that we are all at fault. He knew what he did would gain attention. He wanted to go out in a blaze of glory,

It's not the CAUSE... though yes, coverage does fuel copy-cats.
The CAUSE is piss-poor parenting, lax disipline in the home and schools, video-game and television violence, and a system that can't control criminals / the insane... the NEWS is just a tiny fraction of the cause.
Just my opinion.
