The Indigo or Crystal child has come to the planet with its own "mission". As an Indigo it is here to challenge exisiting forms and beliefs,..Much has been made of the current crop of Indigo children being born, but Indigos of the current group have been incarnate for just over 40 years. The earliest Indigos born between the late fifties and late seventies had protective auric overlays of standard blues and violets and tans, because the culture was not ready yet for the impact of ‘pure’ Indigos who started appearing in the mid- eighties.
"..called an ‘old soul’, and have had experiences and insights that are outside the usual parameters for the life of a person of my culture and heritage.."
Indigos process their emotions differently than non Indigos because they have high self-esteem and strong integrity. They can read you like an open book and quickly notice and neutralize any hidden agendas or attempts to manipulate them, however subtly. In fact, they can see your hidden agendas even if you can't! They have inherently strong determination to work things through for themselves and only want outside guidance if it's presented to them with respect and within a format of true choice. They prefer to work situations out for themselves.
Not only are they masters at intuitively picking up on hidden agendas or motives, but they are equally masterful at turning those agendas back onto the people using them, especially their parents. Psychological "button pushing" often causes them to be labeled as nonconformists. If they notice that there is a hidden motive behind your attempt to get them to do something, they will resist strongly and feel perfectly justified in doing so. From their point of view, if you're not doing your work in the relationship, they can challenge you on it.
Indigos have innate healing abilities that are usually already active; however, they may not know that they are using them!
As a summary, here are the ten attributes that best describe this new kind of child, the Indigo Child (named by those who predicted it).
They come into the world with a feeling of royalty (and often act like it)
They have a feeling of "deserving to be here," and are surprised when others don't share that.
Self-worth is not a big issue. They often tell the parents "who they are."
They have difficulty with absolute authority (authority without explanation or choice). They simply will not do certain things; for example, waiting in line is difficult for them.
They get frustrated with systems that are ritually oriented and don't require creative thought.
They often see better ways of doing things, both at home and in school, which makes them seem like "system busters" (nonconforming to any system).
They seem antisocial unless they are with their own kind. If there are no others of like consciousness around them, they often turn inward; feeling like no other human understands them. School is often extremely difficult for them socially.
They will not respond to "guilt" discipline ("Wait till your father gets home and finds out what you did").
They are not shy in letting you know what they need.

Indigo children is a term used within the New Age movement to refer to children who are alleged to possess paranormal attributes such as the ability to read minds.
The reason for the use of the adjective "indigo" is not universally agreed upon: some sources link it with an early researcher into the phenomenon, who was synesthetic. It has also been claimed that these children appear with an indigo-hued aura.
The Indigo Child movement believes that the children in question are born with an empathic connection to Earth and others' thoughts. However, due to natural limits in infant communication, Indigo children's supposed abilities (empathy, telepathy, extra-sensory perception and extra-normal perception) are often suppressed by negative parental or societal influence. The Indigo Child movement therefore encourages parents to support those children in whom can be seen traits which are often labeled as negative by mainstream authorities but as positive by the Indigo Child.

Indigo Children have indigo colored auras and they are said to have special paychic abilities.
There's been a lot of debate over whether people call themselves Indigo Children because they want to feel special because they don't feel special for having ADD/ADHD or ASD (autistic spectrum disorder).

Indigo Children is the latest money making scam from the New Age movement.
Did you ever see the South Park episode with the "cure" for ADHD?
Most of these parents with Indigo kids can't face that their kids aren't perfect and have deluded themselves into thinking their kids are perfect but the society is not.
The entire movement is based on one wackjob's alleged communications with an extraterrestrial named Kryon.
I think she was spray painting a room indigo with some Krylon spray paint and got confused. She should've cracked the window open.

I met an Indigo child once, kid hugged me like he had known me for a million years, he was amazingly psychic, he knew I had a pond with fish in it, and cats, without me telling him. He had a beautiful little angelic smile, too, very lovely energy around him....
More often than that though, I meet parents who have heard of the whole Indigo child thing, and want so badly to think thier kid is one of them, that they can't see the child is quite normal.... kind of like stage parents who don't want to see if thier kid is tone deaf.....

It's children that are incredibly advanced, beyond genius.
They aren't always math and science, some indigos are just wildly wise beyond their years.
the spirituality is amazing and vast.
Some people think they are the next step in evolution
