It depends on the movie. Some movies just HAVE to be seen with a good crowd, like big summer blockbusters or scary horror films. Other movies aren't affected by the theater experience and could easily wait until its less crowded or even on DVD.

My girlfriend and I generally wait for the second weekend, even if it's a movie we're both dying to see. After opening weekend, the theatre is less crowded, there's not as much crowd noise, and we enjoy the movie more.

We'll probably make an exception for POTC 3, though. We're most likely going to double-date that one with another couple and opening weekend may be the only time they can make it.

There's a few movies I've seen on opening day Matrix series, Star wars prequels, so it kinda depends on the movie sometimes I can wait after it's been out a few weeks but it kinda depends if it's a movie I really have to see, Plus it never hurts to see all the cute, sexy girls that are at the movies too!

It depends on the movie for me, if it's a movie I really am excited to see and/or it has one of my favorite actors in it like Johnny Depp, then I will go on opening weekend, otherwise I'll just wait a few weeks.

If it's a movie I REALLY want to go see and have anticipated for quite some time (like POTC: At World's End) then I usually go opening NIGHT! If not, I go whenever I have the money, time, and want to see a movie.

It depends on how bad i want to see it. if you go see it opening night it is crowded and people talk to much, so you have the possibility of missing parts. But if it is something you are dying to see, like I was with Rocky Balboa you go on opening night and enjoy yourself and go with the flow.

i go to see them opening weekend--but i go to the first shows. most people are still asleep. i usually see two films (to make it worth my while to go all the way downtown). the first one usually has fewer people there. by the time i see the second one, people are starting to get the sleep out of their eyes and actually start showing up.

another good thing--the movies are a little cheaper.

on occasion, i'll go to a movie on saturday night of the opening weekend. it is usually a madhouse.

It has to be really good, for me to go on opening weekend. Otherwise, I can wait until it is not as crowded. Thanks for asking. Have a good day.

I usually wait, but if it's a movie I REALLY want to see, I'll go during the week.
