What your feeling near the breast area is most likely gas. I wouldn't really expect to feel the baby move until at least 19-22 weeks, especially if its your first pregnancy. Give the baby time to get bigger and stronger. Good Luck and congrats on the pregnancy!

What you feel could very well be the baby. Maybe the baby is big...or in a different position than most. No pregnancies are the same. I have three children and each pregnancy was so different with them. With my first I felt her at twelve weeks. At first all I felt was a fluttering feeling like butterflies were in my stomach. My second...I hardly ever felt her move. I ended up having like six ultrasounds with her because I did not feel her hardly at all. She ended up being a 9 pound 9 ounce baby and 22 1/2 inches long. When she came out the doctors told me that I did not feel her because she did not ever have much room to move. She was very healthy. With my third I felt him at about eighteen weeks. Each pregnancy is different. I would not worry about it. If you are concerned talk to your doctor and he will probably reassure you that everything is alright. If your stomach is the correct size then you especially do not have anything to worry about. Relax...

You will probably feel the baby in the next two weeks. Try not to worry, the baby is still very small and has a lot of room. Usually in a first pregnancy you don't notice the movement until about 18 weeks. It will feel fluttery, but it is going to be lower down than your breast, almost at your pubic area.

If you are expecting your first baby you can expect to feel your baby for the first time between 18 and 24 weeks gestation. If this is not your first baby you can expect to feel your baby a bit sooner than you felt your first. This is usually said to happen because you know what you're feeling for and your uterus is more stretched out than it was the first time around.
There may be reasons that you are not feeling movement as early as you are expecting to feel it. Many of these are normal occurrences, including:
Your Body Weight
Your Baby's Position
Location of Your Placenta
Bubbles. Butterflies. Gas These are all words used to describe what a baby's first movements feel like to a mother.

I might have felt a few flutters around 18 weeks, but I never really felt serious movement until 24 weeks or so.

i didnt feel my baby move until i was 22 weeks along. my doctor did an ultrasound just to make sure everything is ok and it was. in fact, my baby was moving already, i just couldn't feel him. 20 weeks is normal so don't worry. if you get to be 21 weeks and have not felt then talk to your doctor about doing an ultrasound. but 17 weeks is not unusual to not feel baby moving

Relax, many of us don't feel the baby move until the 5th month! As long as the heartbeat is doing well there's nothing to worry about. I've went through this with all 4 of my pregnancies, I've called it "the early mothering instinct"!

I was 20 weeks as of yesterday and I just started feeling her move a little (this is my 4th) I am getting impatient and ready for her to kick her father in the back while he is sleeping! :) It is perfectly normal for you not to feel anything though I know it is probably driving you crazy like it was me. Now she kicks little dainty kicks but pretty soon it will feel like she is kicking a field goal! Just like everything in pregnancy... be patient! CONGRATS and good luck! :)
