10 weeks 4 days does not equal 12 weeks ..
you go by the first day of your last period .. which adds the 2 weeks to the baby's age .. but the ultrasound takes that into consideration .. the ultrasound machines go by the same calculations. so, if it says, 10 weeks 4 days, you are 10 weeks 4 days (it also calculates the extra 2 weeks into the babys size).
For example, I'm 28 weeks 5 days (which is 28 weeks 5 days from my last mestrual cycle) the ultrasound would say 28 weeks 5 days because the 2 weeks is calculated in.

good luck! God bless!

No, 10 weeks 4 days means that you are that far along, give or take a week. Measurements are not 100% accurate and if your dates and your measurements are off by a week or 2 either way, the doctor is usually not concerned. The doctor may be concerned when you know your lmp is a certain date and your are calculated to be 10 weeks pregnant and the ultrasound is showing that the baby is only 7 weeks gestation or the baby is 13 weeks gestation. When there is that big of a discrepency in the numbers, there could be a problem which warrants further investigation by the doc. Hope this helps.

The ultrasound calculations allow for the extra 2 weeks prior to conception that the drs use to calculate due dates. So 10 wk 4 d is really 10 wk 4 d.

Go by the date of your last period and add seven days and go back three months. That is your due date. From that you can calculate closer how far along you are. That is a lot more accurate then the unltrasound dates. They were never accurate. They go by the fact that most babies are supposed to be seven pounds...not the fact that they can be between five and ten pounds and still be perfect. The measurements are not accurate and there is no special formula to it. Period dates are more accurate.

if the ultrasound measured you at 10 weeks, then you are 10 weeks. they are more accruate than going by your last period.
ive never heard of adding 2 weeks to what you measured to be.
my first ultrasound measured me at the time to be 7 weeks 6 days. i am now 9 weeks 2 days. my doc. never added 2 weeks.

You will need to ask the ultrasound tech if they are measuring from lmp (last menstrual period) or fetal age. Generally speaking, they measure using LMP--which means you are 10 wks.

I understand you.

I can say that the early ultrasound date is about as accurate as you can get. Double check with the doc to see if you should add any weeks, but it should be right on the way it is.
