Gonzales is just one of the continuing series of logs of the Bush Admin that when you pick them up a thousand insects scurry from the light.
I don't take any pleasure in the weekly scandals.
I wish that it would stop, but there is no bottom to the old ones, and new ones are being brewed up now, I am certain. Bush-Cheney is a different kind of administration, and I sincerely hope the last of it's kind, for the USAs sake.

And without any facts, proof or evidence, why are Democrats so sure they were improper?
Some of the removals were probably decided and in the works prior to Gonzales taking the AG position. Such as US Atty Lam who ignored illegal immigration violations in contradiction to direction from the Bush Administration.
Anyway... I find it amusing that Democrats seem to prefer shallow soundbites to in-depth political philosophy. Does this juvenile "gotcha" style of politics really have any meaning, outside of appealing to small minds?
