Recently I have been so mad with Ebay. For starters, I bought a PC. I bought the item, paid with Paypal, and the PC never came! They gave me so much hassle getting a refund. Took a few weeks, to get it back! So I gave them a well deserved negative feedback, and in retaliation, they gave me one too! Despite doing nothing wrong!

Secondly, I was selling an iPod on Ebay, and I got scammed out of the player. It was a sophisticated move that was technically inside the rules of Ebay however.
The MP3 player went on the listings, and within a few hours I had a bid on there, and then straight away I had a second bid, but the high bidder was the same. The bidding was now at £854 for an iPod shuffle! I checked it and nothing seemed to be wrong with the bids.
It stayed at that price for the whole time and then the guy took his bid of, and I sold it for a measly 50p!

I was wondering what other peoples bad experiences of Ebay are, so I can ask them to improve it, in particular the feedback system.

I've had some bad experiences myself. I was selling my mobile and had to list it 4 times before a legit person brought it. the first 3 were all nigerians trying to get me to send it there, on two they didnt respond but one started threatening death myself and partner, we informed ebay and all they wanted was the emails nothing else. we went to the police and they didnt take it serious and two weeks later there was that new story about a kid being kidnapped over a ebay item!!

other times is when the item hasn't arrived and we've tried to get refunds, most people are fine but there are others who don't respond and we had to go via paypal to get a refund and other who go through the right channels and then royal mail have the cheek to say we never picked the item up even though we rang our sortig office loads of time because we knew we was getting a package and never got a attempted delivery note. then they gave neg feedback!!

Another time someone hacked onto my account and tried selling things but ebay caught on and stopped it.
they have been trying to up the security and fraud by adding extra precauths before selling but to be honest I don't see the point in what thy've tried, its not that effective!

with the feedback you are able to respond to the negative feedback which is what i do when they have come out with a bunch of lies!

I have mixed feelings about eBay. Like you, I'm scared of scams, but that mixes with feelings with lots of "legit" sellers dominating the eBay market. For example, when I wander in, and look for an iPaq, I see the first five listings, showing stores selling an iPaq at a list price I can find anywhere. What's the point? I could just as well go to e.g. Froogle and find a better price...(which I have done on several occasions, much to my advantage!)

So, the fear of scam, it would *seem*, somewhat works against works against the possibility of a good price?

But, yes, I agree, though I don't know exactly how it could be done without some cost to buyers/sellers: eBay should have some sort of scam protection!

Your anger is shared by many other eBayers thanks to the very clever crooks out there. As an experienced seller on eBay, there are several things you can do to protect yourself. For one, you can set conditions on your auction. Don't accept bids from people with negative feedback, only accept bids from PayPal payers that are verified, etc.
You have the right to end an auction early if you see something funny going on.

Ebay is a great place but it seems there are so many criminals it's getting out of control.

The feedback system is only as good as people make it. I have trouble - I've sold 10 items this week and find it hard for people to give me feedback.

Good luck

this is too costly for what all and sundry is seeking on ebay, somebody would desire to get a clean mattress with mattress for much less then your advertising a secondhand mattress for. Beds and different great bits of furnishings are purely in all probability to get a million/4 to a a million/3 of what it became initially nicely worth. you besides mght have not have been given any comments, which makes human beings careful as they don't be attentive to something approximately your identifying to purchase and advertising form. you do no longer would desire to strengthen the itemizing nevertheless perhaps a greater helpful 2nd photograph, the single you have makes the mattress seem warn and scratched.

Oh yea, they have a lot of room for improvement, they aren't as secure as they claim either, I won't go into detail but I had a couple of near misses, someone must have been looking out for me because it could have cost a bundle had I not caught this one mistake and reported these scams. Good luck on yours I hope it gets better.
