Do you know where your spouse is? You can contact the court house to find out if a divorce has been filed.
If your spouse knows where you live, they have to make attempts to have you served with divorce papers before they can receive a divorce by default so, if you haven't been served, you could still be married.

one of you has to file for a divorce...then you are usually served papers to sign if he files...you will then be notified when the divorce is final
if you file...then your lawyer or the court will notify you when it is final and you are divorced
separation does not mean divorce...you could be separated for the rest of your life and still be married

It takes two to Tango..just like how it takes two to Divorce...You have to sign papers, you can't just be divorced out of nowhere, because your ex decided to.
