I know I would not trust someone over the net until I get to know them on a personal scale if I want to have a future in the first place.

whats the difference in trusting someone you just met on the net and trusting someone you just met on the street, in a bar, in a restaurant....etc... of course you dont give them your cc #'s but thats just common sense. the net is just another of the many places people choose to socialize. sometimes you get burned and sometimes you make a friend for life. the same as if you had met them in any other way. you just have to know when to draw the line in your trust.

If I hadn't trusted someone I met on the net, I wouldn't have my wonderful husband and adorable baby boy. No risk, no reward. You just have to trust your own instincts....that and a background check!!

Yes, you're pretty close. But, it's stupid to trust someone you meet right away in the first place. People should have to earn trust, too many friends burn other friends. I don't trust my family, most of my friends....I have 2 people in the world that I trust, and they had to earn it.

I wouldn't go beyond talking or flirting and I'm a big guy capable of protecting myself quite well and I wouldn't , though I will be nice to people I speak with on here and joke around . You could well be speaking to another son - of - sam or a Jeffery Dahmer and wouldn't know from merely talking here so it isn't a good idea to be naive and be too trusting .

For the most part, I'd say yes, definitely. I think I was one of the lucky ones though...because I met my boyfriend off the internet, and we've been together for a year. I've never met someone so trustworthy in my life...and I'm a smart girl!

Trusting anyone you meet anywhere is stupid! You really need to get to know someone to trust them, and even then, they may decieve you anyway.
