I guess I am lucky, all four of my grandparents were alive. However my dad's parents are pure evil so I avoid them like the plague. I also have some great-grandparents still around who are GREAT! and my great-great grandmother was alive until I was 7. Yes, we were five generations and that's why you don't selfishly wait until your 40s to have kids.
Spent tons of time with the good ones (every weekend evenly distributed) and wouldn't trade that time in for the world.

I grew up living in the same house with my grandparents and now my children are doing the same thing.
I took care of both of them (grandparents) along with the rest of my siblings at home when they were dying of cancer. I wouldn't change any of it.

When I was a kid, I had the greatest grandma. She told great stories and always had time for every one of us. I didn't get to spend enough time with her as an adult and she died a few years ago. Regrets.

Does having your grandmother live across the street count? I visit her daily. She comes over &talks to me & I get her newspaper from her.We talk&talk.I help her shop, do outdoor stuff with her daily.we have a loving relationship. But my dad's family hates me.So I've got NO relationship with them or my dad. But my mom lives next door to me. So I'm close to my mom's family then my dad's.

Yes, they'd come visit every year or we would go there. We lived in PA and one set was in FL and one in Iowa. So, it wasn't as much time as I would have liked. I miss them though. They are all gone.
