Out of interest I would like to know other peoples opinions on UK. How do you feel about their foreign policies, government, general being, citizens, etc.

I have no problem with the people. I think Blair is going down the wrong path by following Bush. If Britain were to follow it's own path and not kiss Bush's behind, I think Britain will come out very well.

Well I'm American and although both cultures enjoy jabbing back and forth (similar to the Americans and Canadians) we are very similar foreign policy, government, general being, etc. With foreign policy we are allies in the closest aspect of the word. Government? We adopted a lot of our ideals based on the Magna Carta as well as your prolific thinker John Locke, and his Two Treatise. With regards to the citizens I've been to London and for the most part found people keep to themselves and seem a little snooty. (Yet I'm sure if you went to New York City and was on the Subway you'd get the same response)That was however before I went into a pub and it's hilarious to talk with you guys. We use the same language yet their are so many little funny nuances, such as sayings, which are different and pretty hilarious. I can't say I know a better drinking chum.

I'm from the US and I consider myself an Anglophile. I've always wanted to visit the UK and I hope to do so one day. As far as foreign policy and government go, I have to say that I used to respect Tony Blair, but that changed when he started kissing Bush's butt. As far as general being and citizens go, I think that Britain seems to be a very beautiful country and I greatly admire British culture. In fact, I'm even proud to say that I have British ancestry.:)

It is strange that I actually like the British government, especially since I think the British general population has its head completely buried in the sand and seems to be acting more French than British as history goes. Thank God their government understands the world a little better and is willing to stand up on important issues.

That they are about the closest to US policy as you shall or can find in Europe.
Which I happen to believe is more proper then the common European models (France, Germany, etc.).
Later days from the Golden State!

Speaking as an American, i think they're our best ally in Europe. Generally very good people.
Another thing I've noticed....you can walk around London at any hour and feel pretty safe. You CAN'T do that in ANY American city.

My honest answer? Who cares about Britain? It's just a little bitty country. I couldn't tell you much about them except that they have really bad comedy.

I'm not really that cold about it, but they seem to overestimate their importance and influence. Most Americans probably know jack about Britain.
