I have met another guy on line and we have been talking and exchanging pictures for a few months now. I really like him, he is from Russia; iam an American, now living in China. I know that most people will say it is a scam, to try and get money, but i kinda belive in the guy, am i blinded by loneliness? What would you do? Stop comunicating with him, or just explain that you are afraid to send the money, and risk losing his frienship, if it is true to begin with.

I don't know if it's a scam or not, but don't pay for his visit. If anything, if you're going to pay anyway, you should go visit him, I think. Whether it's a scam or not, by paying for his trip, it will set the tone of the relationship very early on.

NO do not give him a penny he is only after your money, when he gets to China that will be the last you will see of him .if he really wanted to see you he would save up just like the rest of us and then met up with you.tell him that you do not have the money to help him but that you are looking forward to seeing him in the future. his response will tell you how he really feels but do not send him money.

If your friendship is genuine, he'll understand your hesitation and try to get the money himself to come and see you. Giving money to someone that you have never met is risky. If he stops being friends with you over this, then he wasn't a good friend in the first place.

Don't do it. I ran across a similar situation, I did send some money. All I got was some lost money. As soon as it arrived, I never heard from that person again.

No, dont do that, dont pay for his trip! You dont even know the guy! I know how it is, you think you know the person and believe in them but you really dont! You can never be 100% sure! So just let him know that you can't afford it, if he is a friend he will understand.
Be smart.

Kind Regardz,
Me:)

Uhm, why don't you just use the money to go see him? Seems the easy option. Then if he's a flake you just leave, but you still get to say you went to Russia.

You are obviously having second thoughts, with good reason. I think I would tell him you cannot afford it right now. Ask to see if he can send you money to come see him?

the way I see it about online friends is not to trust them you don't really know this person so when it comes to money stand well clear and do not send money like I said its about trust you don't if this guy is out to con you beware.

Don't do it. If he really wants to meet you, he'll pay his own way.

Peoples' true personalities don't really come through online. Don't waste your money.

Pay him when he gets there (and has shown himself to be cool). He saved up for half a ticket, right? He can do it again.
And if he's a con artist, he probably won't.
