You see, I'm a 3rd degree black belt in karate, and I do other forms of martial arts (i.e. Taekwando, Jujitsu, Kung Fu, etc). And nothing scares the hell out of me... That is except for dead roses. I freak out when I see dead roses. There's just something uncanny and creepy about them. There is nothing I hate more than dead roses. Is there any logical explanation to my phobia?

Don't come to my office or home then - I love dead roses. Dried, beautiful dead roses. Even in death, they maintain a macabre beauty.

But, I'm not black belt - just an artist (among many other things).

It's a weird phobia though. I'm only scared of things that can hurt me - like being eaten alive by a shark or grinded to pieces by a chainsaw.

There is good reason for that. If you touch a dead rose your life force is slowly sucked away. Even if you just look at them. Once they have absorbed enough of your energy they will start their agenda of world domination and you will be to weak to do anything about it. The only thing you can do is rub miracle grow, (the for roses kind only) all over your *** and run naked around your house 5 times. That ought to fix it.
Watch out for pansies and petunias, they have their own hidden agenda and are twice as evil.

You probably associate the roses with something that has happened to you in your life before where this image was present. Sort of the way a scent can trigger certain recollection of events, images can do the same. If someone asked you the right questions I think it could help you uncover where this fear stems from and you could resolve it.

Well, seeing as how I am deathly afraid of cockaroachs and hate balloons, clowns and goats I'm probably not qualified to answer. BUT.....I think roses are meant to be alive and beautiful. They smell wonderful and are a symbol of love. Dead ones may represent the actual death of many things to you. Possibly not just human death but a fear of losing important things. Or you are just a freak! LOL! Just kiddin'

umm no not relaly. if you were afraid of nothign at all, that would be odd, indeed. whether its roses or anything, doesnt matter. fear is normal. i personally have social anxiety to the max, am scared of saying hi to people, but when it comes to a situation where i´m dark and alone in the middle of the night, i dont fear for my safety. everyone´s fears are different, dotn think youre abnormal whether the dead rose thing is strange or not.

I find dead roses kind of icky too. I almost dread getting them for holidays like Valentine's Day because I know I'm going to have to deal with them when they start to die. They get mushy and droopy and the petals fall off. I hate touching the flower part when they get like that and just dump 'em in the garbage. When other flowers start to die it doesn't bother me as much.

you might substitute these dead roses for something else that has happed to you or they may remind you of something that you dont like to think about. or you may just think this is a really disgusting thing. ???? a phobia is where you dont like something with a passion but it may not be the item that you have a phobia about that really bothers you. this is your subconcious mind protecting you as we can only take so much.
i am scared of lady birds and fish. i dont know why but i really freak out when i see these things. who knows.

My ex was terrified of moths, a friend was terrified of cockroaches, it is something you inherit from somewhere in your past. One of your ancestors had something happen to them that had something to do with roses.

This is how horses know to be afraid of snakes and can sense them, its part of the survival mode that is passed on when something bad happens.

If you are only a 3rd dan you would be terrified of me.

Martial Arts doesn't prevent fear, just gives you the means to deal with fear. Maybe there's a Rose kata you can learn.
