It was Prince Eric in the disney version. In one of the versions I saw, it some really weird name, but I was four when I saw it. ^_^

I don't believe he had a name and neither did the mermaid or any characters in the story.

I really need to carry that book around with me. That one and the Bros. Grimm book.

In Disney it was Eric.... I don't know if it is in the original version though.
