50 gallons because I don't want to have to upgrade as my fish get larger. Also, I really need a system or specific advice on how to filter, aerate, condition water, etc.

I was hoping there is an acrylic set-up available, but can't find one that is a system.

Thanks for your help.

Welcome to the hobby! It's nice to be able so start with what the fish will need as adults. Good planning.

As far as specific advice I would say to be sure to buy a power filter adequate to the fishes needs. Look at the ratings on the box and get one rated for a 55 or larger, it's hard to over filter a tank honestly.

Aeration will be handled by adequate water movement created by the filter and no special equipment would be needed.

Conditioning the water is really very simple. Goldfish readily adapt to a wide range of water conditions so I would advise against attempting to adjust such things as pH or hardness. Simply use a basic dechlorinator to remove the chlorine or chlorimines from your tap water and that will certainly be enough for your fish to be healthy.

I would like to refer you to the follow site for some basic info on aquarium set up and maintenance as if has a lot of good basic information and a good section on equipment. It also covers in some detail the process of cycling an aquarium and what to expect and how to deal with it. It's certainly worth your time to read through and will offer a lot of insight and advice. The second link is to a well respected golfish site and their recommendations specific to setting up a goldfish tank.

This is a good size for a couple or few goldfish. People misunderstand how big goldfish can get. You will need to get a filter. You can go with a power filter that hangs on the back of the tank of can go with a large sponge filter (doesn't look as good, but is effective) Hope this helps

that is way way WAYYYY too small, sorry. you pick a minimum of 10-20 gallons consistent with goldfish. maximum individuals say 20-30 gallons for the 1st fish then 10 gallons for each greater effective. So 2 goldfish pick 30-40 gallons.... How precisely have not your goldfish died yet?!?!?!? Are you doing every day water variations or some thing?

the tank is kinda big for goldfish, they prefer smaller spaces but anyways, no you don't need system for goldfish, but it will be easier to maintain if you have a filter. airation is not nessecary but can be used, to condition water, i'd reccomend aquasafe, it will take the chemicals out of the tap water, you'll also need a biological conditioner, i'd reccomend Cycle. give the tank a few days before adding the fish, don't forget your water changes, i'd use a siphon so you can clean the gravel at the same time as the water changes, i'd change the water about 10% every 1-2 weeks for goldfish, maybe more often because they will create a lot of ammonia.

I bow,yet again,to MM's intelligence. I'm simply answering to tell you you are -fantastic- to give these young fish so much room. Good job doing your research and not shoving them in a bowl. =)
