It took Richard Burton 3 years training to lose his Welsh accent to get into films. He did come from an area where the welsh accent is very strong, which was unsuitable for films in Hollywood. He Practised talking with a small pebble in his mouth. Yet other Welsh actors kept their accent and did well in films. Stanley Baker, Donald Houston, Mervyn Johns, Glynis Johns. Another success at losing his welsh accent was Anthony Hopkins. Both him and Richard Burton trained at the Welsh college of Music and Drama in Cardiff. I love Welsh accents! I think they're so deep and musical! Also, Welshmen are some of the sexiest in the world. Ioan Gruffudd is a good example!

i feel that scottish accent's nicer...^^ probably cuz i had bad experience with a welsh kid at school and get along better with a scottish kid =)
