the origin of 4:20 is unknown, some say Janice Joplin started it, some say it is a secret California police code... all I know for sure, is a long time ago, when i went to grateful dead shows, the good old days when Garcia was still alive, that if you were outta smoke and you wanted to get high, you could ask somebody that looked cool if they had the time. If they gave you the real time, the had no clue, if they said 'its 4:20' they were willing to toke one up with you, and if they said 'its 4:21' you were too damn late

In the US, its a pot-smoking holiday!!
apparently a police code for a drug bust is 420,
so really, its just an excuse to get stoned!
