that is unfortunate for you. I suppose if I was in a similar situation I would feel the same. But to answer your question, I love storms. Nothing better. No other reason to get out of bed than in hopes of a great thunderstorm. There is nothing in this world quite like the look of the sky before a storm rolls through. Or the smell of the air. Man, I cannot wait for spring!!
But sorry about the static charge. That is unfortunate.

It merely relies upon on the dogs. I had Belgian Shepherds Groenendaels and the female hated storms and can get away from the backyard and lie in my mom-in-regulations storage dealing with our domicile. It grew to become into the only time she might get away. The male could no longer care much less with regard to the storms and that i had lightening hit the shed around the corner with the main deafening explosion of light and sound. The male grew to become into interior the front backyard purely metres away and wasn't apprehensive in any respect. I also have a Kelpie who additionally isn't fazed by using thunder. I also have a 5 month previous Belgian Shepherd Malinois who hasn't been by using a typhoon yet yet because of the fact the boost is commencing right here i will desensitise him. a sprint bit an test cos i've got no longer executed this in the previous yet we get some extensive thunder storms right here and that i do no longer want him freaking out. by using ways, all my dogs have been outdoors dogs, nevertheless no longer chained up. bzzflygirl: good good fortune including your Belgian Shepherd. i think of they're great dogs and make impressive relatives pets.

My daughter's used to be scared of thunderstorms (we live in TX, so we get them alot), until they learned exactly what makes thunder. When lightning charges escape the clouds, the air around it is super-heated causing it to explode outward. This causes the sound. They also learned how to track the storm by counting seconds between the lightning and the thunder. They love them now. Keep yourself safely inside duringthe storm and you'll be fine.
We experienced the tornadoes that rolled through Dallas last week, now that's another story.

Let us look at something that might help u under stand. Every time a lightning strike hits it generates a large magnetic pulse that induces electricity in any metal piece . I think this is what u are feeling U shoald feel Much better in a car as the metal body will give u enough shielding to stop most of the pain.

Good question. People who have a fear of rainstorms or thunderstorms are said to have ombrophobia, from the two Greek words Ombros, meaning rainstorm or thunderstorm and Phobia, meaning fear of. I would suggest headphones and some beautiful Chopin or Mozart with the window shades closed during such storms. It is not as rare a condition as you might expect. And besides you have good reason to avoid electrical storms.

I love to be home when it is raining , making some good food and watching a movie. When the thunder and lightning sounds so violent you think it is going to come thru the roof that is scary and i don't like it.

Yes, I am terrified of thunderstorms too. I used to kind of like them until a few years ago when I was in an F5 tornado. Now I have an anxiety attack when there is bad weather.
