Imus has repeatedly bragged about being the only registered Republican in his building, and probably in his neighborhood. He's repeatedly announced his support for McCain.
Crossing the line and supporting Kerry over Bush does not make him a liberal, nor Democrat. Imus is and always has been more conservative and is registered and acts and speaks as a Republican.
Just because he acted like an idiot doesn't mean you get to revise reality to match your wishes.

Imus was a long time Rush fan and a Republican. Bush just made things interesting as he was a shock jock. Not all Republicans agree with Bush today any how, so why be so naive. Last Novembers elections prove that fact.

Imus is a regisrered republican since 2003, he did however support Kerry. He now supports John McCain.

I am surprised that any of this happened really. Imus is a left wing moon bat. He has been spewing this kind of speech for 35 years. His whole act is to offend. He was an equal opportunity offender. Every race and religion has gotten his wrath over the years.
