I don't see what's all the hype about because it's such a guy movie. No storyline, just "let's look cool and try to kill all these people because our muscles are ripped so we gotta show it off"

Meh, maybe it's cause i'm a chick but honestly the movie was sooo boring.

P.s.. I know my history >_< I just wouldn't make a movie out of it. Plus, it's too holywood.

but probably it is the fact that it's based on a comic book as to why I didn't really appreciated it for. I never read the comic book. I guess I was expecting more since there was so much hype

You are entitled to your own opinion. I on the other hand thought it was pretty good. I like the story line and the fight scenes. I liked the back drop too! It looks so dream-like and mythological.

I'm a chick and i loved the movie!!

you have to know the history of sparta versus persia to really appreciate the movie... it had a storyline! but guess, you don't appreciate history that much to like the movie.

true, the movie was based on a comic book hence the comic book feel of the movie...the fight scenes, clothes, and even the backdrop.

but the comic book was actually based on true historical figures like king leonidas and xerxus, of 300 men and a army of a thousand....

it's like walking to your death but because you know you're death would mean that more people would fight for freedom... you walk faster to your death to insure freedom will live on even if in real life that was a really long and bloody battle.

i agree, the movie could have been better
the fight scenes were good and the special effects were awesome
but the way they portrayed the story was dull (the story about the wife and all that speech about freedom)
the battle of thermopylae could be portrayed better but i guess 300 is more about the comic book than actual history

You are not looking at the real story line. It was 300 against Thousands. In a normal situation, 300 men would have called it a day and gone home but they didn't. 300 men literally went to fight until the death. Think of Rocky 1 but with a whole lot of bigger odds against you.

I loved it and so did my wife. It may be because we had watched the true story of the Spartans on the history channel the week before. If you know the history of the battle and about who the Spartans really were, you probably would have gotten more out of it.

I agree with, there was no real storyline and it was mostly just about the fight scenes and the blood.
It didn't like it that much, but i wonn't realy say it was boring.

Well, about half the population are guys. Are you saying there shouldn't be guy movies, and we should all have to watch sh*tty chick-flicks all the time?
