Going to college is stressful at best for the most well adjusted kid. Some of the kids have never been away from home and are not socially or mentally equipted for their first shot at independense. Combine that with the competition to get top grades to get top jobs it becomes a time bomb

I don't think it would do much good. After all, psychologists often aren't able to get a good assessment of their clients until after several appointments have taken place. Also, there are some psychopaths who are able to conceal their true nature and put on a facade. Also, just because a person is mentally ill doesn't mean that he/she is dangerous. Should someone who is not dangerous be denied an education just because he is mentally ill? That would be discriminatory.

Ha ha hah ha, ya killin me here smalls! If they did a mental health screening of every student that wants to go to college the schools would be empty. All these kids are screwed up in da head one way or another. Ya might want to find a better way than that.

that wouldn't do anything. if you took ten "violentley" mentally ill college age kids, you could probably pick out two or three as being that way.
