Let's try to be a bit sensitive here, if your child just died as a mass murderer would you want to be subjected to the press and public scrutiny? I certainly wouldn't.

Let them grieve and heal in peace.

I've heard that they have decide to go under for a while and who could blame them. Also, there hasn't been much contact with their extended family in the USA or still in Korea. They were not rich enough to afford to go home for family funerals or even call. If they were as reported simply working in a dry cleaners then they were simply poor ans struggling. The Korean American Association is trying to find and aide them. What a sad tragedy this is.

All I've heard said about them is that they work in a dry cleaning business in the Washington, D.C. area. How awful this must be for them. I couldn't cope if I had a child who did this...then again, I might wonder about myself and what I might have done to contribute to having a child develop into such a monster. They must feel a lot of guilt.

I asked the same thing...I'm sure they are in hiding. I hope they find the courage and strength to speak about this. I don't blame his parents for this. It was Cho's choice. And now his parents have to pay for it. What a shame!

Good point! I've heard nothing. They must be devastated. With all this sensational coverage, my focus has been Cho's psychological history. Condolences to his family as well as the victim's families.

Some of the answerers have very good insight regarding this question. I cannot imagine what the parents and other family members are feeling.

Very well put dbytz.

This family is experiencing a great loss. I cannot even begin to imagine what it must be like for them. Not only dealing with the death of a son, but coping with his terrible act.

I was asking the same thing myself. But if you were his parents, would you want to be on national TV right now?! You know the media is probably torturing those poor people right now! And you know with certainty that the media is gonna make a circus out of it, blaming, predicting and lying!(as usual)

he was obviously crazy. They must have had some idea. But parents are often in denial about things like this. They want to believe the best about their children.
