She is in her early 50's, very fit and intelligent but she has gone from a wild and free fun loving and sexy woman to a girl who can't sleep, is picky and argumentative, unco-operative and always very tense. She does a very high pressure job so I'm not at all surprised that she has all these symptoms, she's going through hell. Her libido which was very strong has all but disappeared. I want to help and support her but I'm finding it very hard going when she won't let me or snipes at my efforts. How long will this last and what happens afterwards? I love her very deeply, I'm no longer sure she feels the same, which may be a seperate issue but I just don't know. Help!!

Because menopause takes place over several years I would definitely recommend that she get in touch with her dr to see what they would suggest but in the mean time she may want to try taking B6 either in a bottle by itself or as part of a whole bottle of B Complex. B6 is very good at helping with mood issues such as this. You can find it in many drug stores such as Wal-Mart as well as The Vitamin Shoppe (you can also buy from their site).
