good morning
having just got out of the military after 30 years i have seen
more mass killings in other countries then i care to admit to
i have seen whole towns where the men between 16 to 50yrs
were rounded up and taken away only to find there bodies
in mass graves with there hands tied behind there backs and
bullets in the back of there heads so i can say yes human
beings are insenstive to brutal mass killings.

Do you not see it everyday on the news? After a while you just become numb. Sometimes it's better that way. Getting upset over it doesn't change what happened does it? I'm not excusing what's going on to our society as a whole. But really what does getting all emotional do be create more ratings for TV news agencies.

Shock wears off after awhile. If someone pokes you enough with their pen, you will eventually become indifferent to it. If there's a rock in your shoe, you'll eventually ignore it. Everytime you feel it you will be annoyed, but the initial response wears off.
Its human psychology. We're not insensitive. We're desensitized.
