I think that the VT incident should be a wake-up call!!!?

Society puts WAY to much emphasis on being rich, we need to stop putting the Paris Hiltons on a pedastal. What is this doing to our children? How did we let her become a "role model" to our young daughters? I know this terrible tragedy opened my eyes. And there will be more emphasis on people who did great things in their life rich or poor.How will this incident change your household?

9/11 was a wake up call. You have a country dull of senses. How could anyone in their right mind put Paris Hilton and Britney Spears on pedastals? These women are to be the most pitied.

One thing we can do is stop buying magazines with gossip and garbage in them. Stop watching TV of the same sort.

The government has gone to Hollywood and asked them to change. They refuse to change. The evil money behind Hollywood has every intention of destroying our young people.
Our senses are so dulled calling evil good that we can't see or hear.

I don't know anyone who looks up to Paris Hilton. She is a joke, a bad one at that. We can do nothing about different classes of people. There are plenty of poor people who never harm anyone. This man was insane. INSANE. He didn't know who he was shooting. I'm sure not all the people he shot were rich. He was indiscriminate in his killing. I don't think this is going to change my household. We are good people and we will remain so. We have never put emphasis on money.

I do not think the incident had anything to do with role models. It was a very disturbed young man who obviously slipped through the cracks at school and with his doctors. If you want put emphasis on something put it on learning the signs that an individual is a threat to himself and others. Teach your children to report strange behavior in friends and classmates. This tragedy could have been avoided if the signs of mental illness had been recognized and the young man had been removed from the school to seek treatment. It starts in your own home.

My roommate is crazy so it makes me kinda worried. People are generally idiots when it comes to fame and fortune, they desire it so much but can only experience it through viewing others.
