I do agree with you that Hulk Hogan was a very poor wrestler his in-ring talent was non existent, and his promo was terrible, and i hated him, but without Hulk the WWE would not be what it is today, even in the WCW Hulk made them a contender for the number 1 wrestling company and thats the truth, i dont know why he was so popular i think the Americans love the razzma-tazz of sports and that what Hogan was he was not a wrestler he was a entertainer, 90% of his TV apperance's were posing and talking trash and his in ring stuff was 10% i mean who can get excited when someone does a body pose for 10 minutes how boring..yes..Americans.. the guy is a moron in and outside the ring..but i suppose you gotta thank him for the being a part of making the WWE today,

There's two sides to every story the same goes for wrestling you take the drama side of the biz or in other words the glitz and the glamor there is where you find Hogan he was able to draw crowds because he had the looks then you have the actual in ring technique that is where people like Flair comes to play not saying Flair didn't have the looks but in the ring he was one of the most if not the greatest wrestler of all time now if you look at it this way you cant preform a solid show with just talk and no game (no pun intended)you have to have both that's why the attitude era was so great because you had people like Austin and the Rock both had good mic skills and both was actually good wrestlers what I'm trying to say is you cant have just your Flairs with out your Hogans

The guy single-handedly revolutionised the business and for all his technical shortcomings he made up for it with his charisma, skills on the mic and his hugely muscular frame.
If you ask me the worst wrestler of that era was the Ultimate Warrior. I loved him as a kid but having watched some old matches of his you can the guy was useless!
Very few of his matches lasted more than 10 minutes - he just ran about the ring shaking his head, did a few clotheslines, a flying tackle and then a warrior splash! HHH has said that the Warrior was 100% THE most unprofessional person he had ever worked with.
Barring the Hogan fight, I bet you can't name another "classic" he was involved in.

Fact of the matter is Hulk Hogan never had the best wrestling ability but he did have an energy and could sell the merchandice. At the time competition in the industry was not so great so Hogan could get away with holding the title for three years.
His moveset was very poor:
Leg drop
Body slam
hogan shuffle
Bear Hug
these moves often led to boring matches but what Hogan had was charisma and energy like no one else. He fought during the cold war period against the shiek and even slaughter when he joined forces with them which was like he was representing America against iraq and drew in great crowds!!!

I dont believe you younger fans or new fans understand what he did for the company, so you lash out at him because he is a big name and you dont really know why. He dictates a lot in and out of the ring, but he worked his way up in the ring to be able to do that and call shots for his and other matches. People will say that he plays too many politics, but he worked for that. His hair looks funny because he is 53 and thats normal. He did the same old thing in the ring, cause at the time, thats what the fans wanted. You younger people have to understand that wwe is a BUSINESS. In his very first match, his opponent intentionally broke hogans leg and then said "welcome to the big leagues, kid." But Hogan kept wrestling after he healed and many people would quite. Regardless of what a few people online say that are too young or newer fans, Hogan will always be a legend.

No, he's an absolute legend. Don't forget that he came around at a time when wrestling was about big strong guys lifting people and stuff, it wasn't the poncey over-dramatised stageshow that it is now.
He may not ever have been the quickest or most lively competitor but, without Hulk, the WWF would've folded and wrestling would NEVER have evolved into the mutli-billion dollar industry that it is today.
He needs to retire though, since he came back all his matches follow the same tiresome script and it's like watching your drunk Uncle trying to start a fight at a wedding. It's shameful.

He's a Legend and in the Hall of Fame. So he must be good. The only thing that could have made him better would be if he had a decent finishing move other than a leg drop.

No, but his entrance music is, it sounds like the sound track from some corny '80's Van Damme movie.
Granted, his hair is terrible, and NO man should wear thongs, but I don't think he would have been around as long as he was if he was that bad.

Hulk is one of the greatest wrestlers of all time(he is in the hall of fame). his special (atomic leg drop) is good because it does a lot of damage to the head/neck area. Hulk is really strong (he picked up Andre the giant) but his signature power up punch gives Hulk slightly more damage than his opponent.
I think Hulk is an amazing wrestler.
