No chance of that happening, even in 50 years. And, that's coming from a newly converted soccer fan. NFL football and MLB baseball will be the top 2 for quite a while. I do see MLS taking over the NHL for the 4th spot however in about 10 years.

Next time the US hosts the world cup and the final does not go into a penalty shootout. Being a hard-core football fan, I hate to say that American football will always be American's most popular sport. Soccer might be in second.

As the great Milan Manderic said recently, even with a high profile player like Beckham moving over there, they are too much into their homegrown games. Many Americans can't understand how you can be thrilled by such a low scoring game too and think you are getting more for your money when the result is something like 94-97. Perhaps if we gave 10 points for a goal 3 points for a corner etc.!

no. i dont agree. maybe soccer will be the most popular sport in the us, but not only in 5 years. it will take even more than hundred years. soccer will have to defeat baseball which is the most popular sport in us.

Soccer will never be in the top sport in the US....Football and baseball will always be the favorites...There just isnt alot of soccer fans in the US...Not only that but unless the US start improving they will never gain recognition

I don't agree, it's not on the american culture. I don't think it will ever take place of baseball, football or basketball. It's deeper than just the sport, it's more of a cultural matter.

what do you mena nothing compares to american football american football does not compare to the national level of pride the the universal sport football (soccer) when in a football game do you hear thousands of people screaming their national anthem and singing and chanting like they do in the real football never
