World peace is a beautiful thought, but I don't think we'll ever see it. So, I will describe what peace means to me in my life. To me, peace is a feeling of calm, serenity, contentment and the feeling that all is well in my world.

What Does Peace Mean

For me, peace is an inner feeling of well being. It represents a state of contentment created through successful conflict resolution. Satisfaction provided by the positive feelings I enjoy knowing I have done well at my work. Sharing experiences with people who understand that perfection doesn't exist, and can laugh about their less than successful effort of an endeavor as they share the moments of that fiasco. Liking what I see when I look into a mirror. The epiphany of discovering that possessions are actually burdensome. These are just some of the dynamics that contribute my peace. I have found when I felt I was making a sacrifice to accommodate whatever, it was really an opportunity to see how that accommodation was actually a gift that gave whomever less anxiety. There are more reasons contributing to my peaceful existence, but these are the basics.

peace to me means wild cats in the country don't fear me and bumblebee come eat their honey at my table, no need to share a language or even to be of the same race for peace and mutual respect to coexist.

My own definition of peace is generally harmonious coexistence. I'm not into the whole "never argue or disagree about anything" kind of peace because that's really boring and dull. As to what I would be willing to sacrifice... that depends on what you mean. Nothing really needs to be sacrificed for peace, except maybe some grudges. I am not wholly in favor of Marxism/communism/socialism mostly because of the fact that it just can't be applied to real life.

If we spent the same amount of time and money for stopping poverty as we did for making wars happen, there would be no suffering.

Peace comes in many form.

One can be at peace in regard of something. It could be the death of a person.
One can be pursuing peace in having the peace restored where friends or family are bickering.

As a writer of books in political matters I am at peace when I publish a book as then I know I did my bit for society and it is up to them to take it from there.

In the Australian constitution we have the legislative powers limited to, for the peace, order, and good government”, only for the High Court of Australia having declared it never bothered to restrict legislation to this.
So the country got involved in an unconstitutional murderous invasion. Yet, many who supported this are at peace that who they considered to be a tyrant is now finally executed.
I feel it is a sad day that we as a society can pursue the killing of another human being regardless this person has done no wrong to us personally but because others used lies and deception to pretend it was needed.
I am at peace in that at least I attempted the High Court of Australia to order the Australian troops not to be involved in the unconstitutional war, even so the Court refused to entertain the MERITS of the case. At least I did whatever I could do.

I am at peace that I do my best in renovating the house even so my wife cannot stop berating me that I should be doing it 24/7, as to her every minute counts, where as I view I should enjoy doing it and so blend it while doing my writings. Actually, she is saying that when the house is finished she like to sell it because it will make good money, where as I do not wish to sell it as after all my blood and sweat, so to say, is in it and I am not getting any younger either.

A parent can be at peace having attempted the best for their child, regardless that the child might have gone of the track, so to say, and became a criminal.

We cannot change the world but we can for sure try to better ourselves before seeking to criticize others.
When you try your best for others then you can be at peace that you did the best you could within reasons, and accept this as being the best you can do regardless what the other person(s) would do with it.
