Hi there, I've had this. I had miscarried twice early on in pregnancy, fell on a 3rd time but got cramps and bleeding. I was sent for a scan (this is at 7 weeks by the way). They could see the sac but nothing inside it. I too had to have blood tests to check my hormone levels which didn't rise hardly at all, and a 2nd scan a week later showed the sac still there, but it hadn't grown / changed in any way. They said that I should miscarry under my own steam. 2 weeks later I finally miscarried. The explanation i got from the hospital was 'its just one of those things. We don't have a specific explanation for you. The miracle of life is very complex!'

I know my answer hasn't actually given you an answer as such, but i thought it may comfort you slightly to know you aren't alone!

It sounds to me like you are going to miscarry. Hopefully the hospital will keep a close eye on you. If you don't miscarry under your own steam, they may have to give you some medication to start the process off (much like the abortion pill).

It sounds like a missed miscarriage. Sometimes the body doesn't expel naturally. It must have all be distressing for you, but at least you have some prior warning, rather than going for your 12 week scan thinking everything was fine and then finding out.
I don't know what's normal to be seen at 9 weeks but I had a scan at 12 weeks and could see so much. At 9 weeks the fetus should be 1.6cm, so clearly visable on a scan.

Hi I found out I was preganant at 4weeks, I took a home preganncy test, when I went to my OBGYN, she said its just a sac, there is nothing to see and I just have to wait. I had bleeding during that time as well and after it for several weeks. They kept telling me that it might not be a steady pregnancy. I now have my 2.5 month old boy next to me. Just stay with your doctors and make sure to ask a lot of questions and get answers. Or look for a new Doctor. Pray and be very careful and rest. Thats what I did.

In a situation such as yours, you need to talk with your health professionals ONLY. Nobody on YA has the expertise to advise you. I know you may be searching for someone who has experienced this same problem, but their answers may not be your answers. I am sure if you expressed your concerns to the nurse that you feel confused, someone will be happy to calm your fears.

Please consult a professional or talk with a close family member or friend. They would be the best source to get answers about your health, physically and mentally.

Best to you.
