I went to have dinner the other day at a Restaurant. The waiter brought the bill, and paid with my debit card. He then came again and I added $10 of tip to the ticket and left. When I went to see my statement about 3 days after, both charges were there: The original charge PLUS the charge with the tip! How do i fix that?

I would first contact the restaurant, I had a similar problem and when I called the bank they told me first to contact the restaurant, then make sure you contact your bank. Banks usually have a consumer protection plan where they will refund one of the charges and fight with the restaurant for you. The restaurant may be willing to fix it without getting the bank involved and chances are if you pitch enough of a fit you'll get something free out of it too! Good Luck!

Call your bank and the police and report the fraud. Then contact the restaurant manager and do the same.

You should go to your bank and show them the reciept and have them stop payment on the extra bill and have them refund your account.

you might be able to take the restaurant or the waiter to court if they tacked on the tip without your knowledge or approval.
