If it were a brain disease it would be "neurological", NOT to do with physics (were you thinking of "physiological", perhaps?)

Since a great many people of normal and above average intelligence believe in God and manage to function just as effectively in their day-to-day lives as so-called non-believers, I'm not sure how this would qualify as any kind of disease at all..

Of course there are some people who think they don't any religious views and don't understand why anyone else would take such ideas seriously. This is, however, simply a lack of the ability to accept that anyone who doesn't share their views can be a mentally normal, healthy person.
Growing up is acquiring the ability to overcome this kind of limited thinking.

In the meantime it is worth mentioning that rejecting religious beliefs is, itself, a form of religious belief.

definite theory in faith is genetic. each and every component of your progression relies on your genes and a pair of infants raised interior a similar ecosystem do no longer allways choose a similar non secular ideals so tendency in the direction of non secular theory isn't ruled completely by using ecosystem. Psychologists will in all risk some day declare that faith in a god is a psychological ailment becuase they gets a commission to have human beings think of that the way they have been born is an ailment that ought to be cured. To their credit, biblebangers that i've got frequently happening who get on meds tend to tone the hellfire and brimstone down slightly. The assumptions that Athiests are superior is slightly egotistical. it is not impossible to think of that they are area of a administration mutation that maintains social ballance or tests inhabitants growth by using encouraging promiscuity or discouraging monogamy. the two way there is little to assist that Humanity is evolving in the direction of or removed from Atheism.

It is not a disease at all. My relationship with my God is real and has helped me get this far in life without giving up or giving in. My faith sustains me in the worst and the best of times. It is neither physical nor psychological. It is real.
