it IS weird, I've often wondered that myself. Also, that these things tend to occur in bunches! I don't think copy cats can explain why all of a sudden, there are outbreaks of violence in different parts of the country.
Are we all suffering from SADD in late spring?

not likely. Your probabilities of triumphing the lottery are plenty, plenty, worse, yet a lot of human beings nonetheless purchase tickets. No. In the course of human history, I'm sure there are many events that happened the week before or the week after that are equally horrific. We have just forgotten about them.
Think about it this way. My birthday, Thanksgiving and my Father's death all fall in the same week. Is this 'weird' or just coincidence? I say it's coincidence.
