I couldn't stop clapping at the TV! Every week I kept wondering: Why is this guy surviving so long? Finally, it's over.

I just wanted to say that I know Sanjaya was not the best singer on the show and it wouldn't be fair if he won over others would sang better, but I think all of the terrible things people have said about him were uncalled for. He seems like a nice guy. The first person who answered you said that the whole world was glad to see him go, and I wanted to say that that is a lie. I know a lot of people that are sad he's gone, including myself.

In my opinion, the kid can sing well enough to get by.
He has an interesting look about him and strange fashion sense... not unlike Michael Jackson, David Bowie or Mick Jagger.
He is bulletproof as far as being able to take abuse.
He is really young and has many, many years of growth ahead of him.
Compare that with the rest of the fools on that show.
Take your pick between generic cruise boat singers, faceless muscleheads, average looking girl singers who would NEVER appear on a poster in a teenage boys room and on and on.
Sanjaya has star quality.
I'll bet you when his album is released it will be a much bigger seller than whatever personality-deprived singer wins.
Also... watch American Idol's ratings plummet now that Sanjaya is gone.

I was so happy Sanjaya was booted FINALLY! He should have been gone a long time ago. Every morning here at work we talk about who should go and some of my co-workers were always defending Sanjaya. So I told them that the day he gets booted off, I'll bring donuts in to celebrate. Let's just say I was up and at the dohut shop at 5:45am!!!
Now that he is gone: Let the REAL competition begin!!!!

Clearly he didn't have the expected level of talent to be there, but for the show's sake, he was a godsend. I don't think the rest of them are very interesting. Hopefully with Sanjaya gone, someone else will rise to the challenge and bring some spark into the group.

Yes, I'm so glad he's gone, but then I kind of felt sorry for him. I guess I have some emotions left.
After I disliked him so much previously, I now understand he was just trying to make it to the top like everybody else and if America kept him there so long, then he deserved to be there.
Anyway, I'm glad he's gone

I am happy that he is gone but who is going to bring humor to the show? However, I felt bad for Sanjaya because he cried last night. He will succeed with his looks and personality.

Yeah, because he didn't have the talent to be there. But he was interesting in his way, and I loved that he changed the song to say "Let's give them something to talk about, other than hair." :-) If he were my neighbor kid, I'd probably purely love him, which was why I felt sorry for him even though I agreed that he's not a very good singer.

Well the show is riged anyways. they knew it. but when the people found out they had to do something to try to cover it up. so they got him gone which is what people wanted anyways. so yeah im glad he is gone. the only problem is they already got rid of the best when chris sly was voted off. so now the show sucks.
